KQ Sports Tournament Rules

Unless otherwise noted below, the playing rules that KQ Sports will follow is in accordance with the USSSA National Rules then it will follow the Official Major League Baseball Rules.

TEAM REGISTRATION:

Teams must be registered with USSSA and have a completed roster.

ROSTERS:

The team’s manager is responsible for all aspects of the eligibility of the players on his team and they meet the Bylaws and rules, including player additions. Please read through the National Bylaws on roster rules.

SCHEDULES:

Schedules will be posted by Tuesday, 10:00AM the week of the tournament. Championship play brackets will be posted after pool play is complete on Saturday night.

AWARDS:

Individual awards for 1st & 2nd place for divisions of 5 teams or more. If a division only has 4 teams we will only have 1st place awards.

RUN RULES:

7U - 5 Innings or 65 minute time limit - 8U - 6 Innings or 90 minute time limit 9U - 12U - 6 Innings or 1:40 time limit 13U - 14U - 7 Innings or 1:40 time limit

NO DROP DEAD - MUST FINISH THE INNING IF STARTED

TIED GAMES:

Pool Play: Ties are recorded if game time has elapsed and teams have same score. Ties are recorded if 6 innings completed for 12U and younger or 7 innings completed for 13U & 14U regardless of amount of time remaining in the game.

BRACKET PLAY: Each team will place the last two players who batted from the line-up the previous inning on 2nd and 3rd base (last batter on 2nd and 2nd to last batter on 3rd base). The inning will start with one out. The game will continue with this format until a winner is declared.

HOME TEAM:

Pool Play - Flip coin for home Bracket Play - Higher Seed has choice of home Championship Game - Higher Seed has choice of home HOME TEAM will be the official scorekeeper and must record start time in book

PITCHING RULES:

USSSA rules apply unless specifically noted other for event. Team managers must complete pitching card and submit to the site director after each game. Teams will not be allowed to start next scheduled game if pitching record from the previous game was not submitted to the site director.

TIE BREAKER:

Winning Percentage - Descending Number of Wins - Descending Number of Loses - Ascending Tied Teams - (vs. each other) Winning Percentage - Descending Average Points Allowed - Ascending Average Run Differential with a maximum of (8) - Descending USSSA Points - Descending Date Team Entered USSSA Database
